When to Go and How to Combine It

June to September when the east coast is at its best. This is the southwest monsoon window, which makes the south coast wet and the east coast ideal. July and August are peak. The resort is 1 hour from Polonnaruwa, one of Sri Lanka's most significant ancient capitals. Why visit the east coast instead of the south coast?

‍The east and south coast operate on opposite monsoon cycles. The south coast is best from November to April. The east coast is at its finest from June to September.
