Ba Na Hills Golden Bridge is one of the most searched Vietnam travel experiences and the most photographed man-made attraction in the country. The 150-metre pedestrian bridge held by two giant stone hands at 1,414 metres above sea level — with panoramic views across the jungle-covered Truong Son mountains — is the image that put Da Nang on the international travel map. If you are searching for Ba Na Hills tickets 2026, Golden Bridge Vietnam tour, things to do in Da Nang, or Ba Na Hills from Hoi An, this guide covers the ticket price, cable car details, what the French Village looks like, and the single most important timing decision for clear views.
STAY OVERVIEW: Ba Na Hills is a full-scale mountain resort operated by Sun World, located 25km west of Da Nang in the Truong Son mountain range. Getting there involves two of the world's longest cable car systems — the first descends through cloud forest with waterfalls visible from the cabin, the second reaches the summit at 1,487 metres with views across Da Nang Bay and the South China Sea on clear days.
The Golden Bridge is 150 metres long, held by two 70-tonne stone hands emerging from the forested cliff, at 1,414 metres elevation. The bridge gives panoramic views of the surrounding mountain range. Below and around it is Le Jardin d'Amour — a series of themed flower gardens in French formal style that are genuinely beautiful and cover the hillside in seasonal blooms.
The French Village at the summit is a full-scale replica of a medieval French town — cobblestoned streets, cafes, wine cellars, and a debay wine tasting room. It exists because French colonialists built a hill station here in the 1920s to escape Da Nang's heat. The replica is kitsch but charming. Fantasy Park, an indoor theme park with rides for children, rounds out the complex.
WHAT MOST PEOPLE GET WRONG: Going on a cloudy day. Ba Na Hills sits in cloud approximately 200 days per year — the mountain is famous for its four seasons in a day (spring morning, summer noon, autumn afternoon, winter evening) which means weather changes rapidly. Check the forecast at banahills.sunworld.vn the morning before visiting. If it says overcast, move the day. The Golden Bridge in cloud is an abstract white photograph. The Golden Bridge on a clear day is the image you came for.
WHO THIS IS FOR: Every Da Nang and Hoi An visitor. Families with children (Fantasy Park is excellent for ages 5-14). Photography travelers. Couples who want the iconic Vietnam photograph. Indian families specifically — the French Village and gardens are spectacularly photogenic.
WHO SHOULD SKIP: Those who visit on cloudy days without checking the forecast. Budget travelers — Ba Na Hills is a premium experience with real entrance fees. Those expecting an authentic Vietnamese cultural experience — this is a theme park on a mountain, extraordinary on its own terms, but not traditional Vietnam.
LOCALHI TIP: Arrive at Ba Na Hills when it opens (approximately 7:30am-8am). The cable car queue is shortest, the Golden Bridge has the fewest people, and the morning light on the mountains is at its best. By 11am the site is significantly more crowded.
